About Us
About SONAR
SONAR was built from the workbench up.
We design modular guitar tools and accessories for players who care about setup, feel, and the details that shape tone. Our products aren’t decorative add-ons. They’re workflow tools — built to remove friction and help you focus on the instrument.
Signal over noise.
Where It Started
SONAR began in a bedroom in California.
Not a factory. Not a funding round.
Just a desk, a printer, and the need for better tools.
This project started as a passion build — something I worked on between classes while studying engineering. What began as a way to offset school costs slowly became something bigger: a way to design the kind of tools I wished existed.
I’m a first-generation Mexican engineering student. No blueprint. No inherited shop. Just curiosity, persistence, and a belief that better tools unlock better creativity.
SONAR is still small. Still iterative. Still independent.
And that’s the point.
Built with Additive Manufacturing
SONAR exists to bring additive manufacturing into the guitar world.
We use 3D printing not as a shortcut — but as a design advantage.
Additive manufacturing allows us to:
• Reinforce internal structures without adding unnecessary weight
• Create modular systems that snap together cleanly
• Iterate quickly and refine details
• Produce small-batch tools without mass-production compromises
Instead of designing around factory limitations, we design around function.
Layer by layer, each product is built with purpose.
What We Build
• Modular neck cradles for setup and repair
• Studio risers and workflow tools
• Accessories designed to improve clarity, not clutter
Each piece is printed in-house and refined through use.
Our Philosophy
Good setups unlock better playing.
Better playing unlocks better ideas.
Creativity doesn’t come from more gear.
It comes from clarity.
That’s what SONAR is built for.
